1. Choose the Right Tool
Use a soft, flexible measuring tape to accurately wrap around your dog’s neck. If you don’t have one, a piece of string or ribbon works just as well, just wrap it around and measure it against a ruler.

2. Measure at the Right Spot
Position the tape (or string) around the base of the neck, just above the shoulders. The same place the collar will sit.

3. Apply the Two-Finger Rule
You should be able to slide two fingers comfortably (not forced) between the collar and your dog’s neck. This ensures the collar is snug enough to stay secure, yet loose enough to avoid choking or irritation.

4. Test the Fit Once the Collar’s On
After fitting the collar, reapply the two-finger test. Look for signs of improper fit. If you can’t fit two fingers, it’s too tight; if more than two fingers fit loosely, you might need a smaller size. Watch for rubbing, coughing, or slipping, all telltale signs of a poor fit.

5. Re-Measure Regularly
Especially important for pups or dogs gaining/losing weight. The neck size can change over time. Make it a habit to re-check the collar fit every few months.
